We always suggest our customers consider the purchase of a mattress as seriously as their choosing one of our beds. The importance of a good mattress cannot in our opinion be underestimated. Sleeping on a supportive and comfortable mattress helps you sleep well, helps your posture and makes the time spent in bed a relaxing and replenishing experience, which will set you up for the following day. The first thing to consider when purchasing mattress is who is going to sleep on it and how often is it going to be used. Purchasing a mattress for a child's room or spare room will give you a very different criteria compared to purchasing a mattress that an adult will use very night for 10 - 15 years. So choosing the appropriate mattress is essential part of your purchase.
As a company we have access to mattress ranges of most top companies we narrowed this vast range of mattresses to a small choice of quality good value mattress that are produced to the same standards and ethos we use manufacturing our metal heritage beds. In terms of purchasing a mattress for regular adult use we start around the £595 mark and have several models slightly above this price rising to mattresses made with compromise at £3000.
We stock 2 mattresses below this price but recommend these be used on beds for spare, occasional or children. For regular adult use spend what you can and little more – you will not regret spending money a good quality on mattresses they are chosen for their comfort value, materials quality and craftsmanship.
To sum up our recommended choice would be our own Chatsworth or Blenheim mattress. If this is more than you want to spend our Kensington mattress or our Harewood mattress will serve you very well for many years. Under £500 we supply good quality mattresses with 10 year warranty these will provide comfortable sleep on or bedsteads, children’s beds or beds for occasional use.
We recommend some caution in purchasing a latex / visco mattress. Buy these when you are familiar with the “unique feel” these mattresses have, not from the claims made by many manufacturers of these products. Also if you require particularity firm or soft mattress these should be tried before you buy. All our recommend mattresses are supportive and comfortable with regular / medium comfort.
